Sal
has
been
in
the
food
service
industry
as
a
restaurateur
and
restaurant
builder/designer
for
much
of
his
life
creating
some
of
the
Northeast's
most
popular
and
beautiful
restaurants.

came
to
Florida
in
1995
to
begin
a
company
called
‘Savino’s
Italian
Ices’.
In
a
few
short
years
‘Savino’s
Italian
Ices’
could
be
found
in
100’s
of
South
Florida
restaurants
and
on
the
shelves
of
all
major
supermar
-
kets.
The
‘Savino’s
Italian
Ices’
company
morphed
natu
-
rally
into
‘
Specialty
Desserts
’
when
Sal
became
aware
of
something
missing,
a
scarcity
in
the
Florida
dessert
industry—something
he
took
for
granted
in
his
home
of
origin Brooklyn, NY.
The
scarcity
he
noticed
was
the
lack
of
fantastic
home-
made
ice
cream
cakes
and
desserts
like
the

in
his
favorite
bakery
back

Sal
proceeded
to
fill
that
void
with
the
creation
of
his
new
company
